Hello 👋
My name is Winston, and I am a Grade 11 Student located in Markham Ontario. I enjoy web design and development, and I participate in the VEX Robotics Competition. In my free time, aside from doing schoolwork, I work on web projects, tinker around on my computer, and work on VEX Robots!
You can find more information about my projects in my resume or look around below!

Simple, fast, and fluid. This custom designed website showcases information about the team elegantly. Vibrant shades of orange are used throughout, contrasting with the simple white backdrop. Text animations make the website come to life.
Optimised for all screen sizes, the experience is light and airy on all devices.
This website is handcrafted from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the Bootstrap framework.

Started a fun podcast with Evelyn Wong, The Drive Team. We talk with members of the competitive robotics community about their journey and experiences, sharing their highlights and inspiring current STEM students.
Also made a simple website to listen to the podcast.

Controller Deskmats in 4 Colours
2020
I designed and sold a custom deskmat in partnership with TheKey.Company. This deskmat was created in Adobe Illustrator and was a fun side project! The deskmat came in four colourways and was inspired by the Stadia Controller.

I created the logo and artwork for a design group formed with a few friends. The logo was created in Adobe Illustrator and consists of different coloured solid shapes making out the letters. The brand artwork was first 3D modelled in Fusion 360, and then exported to Adobe Dimension to create a scene with other objects.

My competitive robotics journey started back in 2018, with me joining Team Polaris and participating in the FIRST Lego League. The FIRST Lego League taught me many aspects of robotics and competition in general, such as programming algorithms, mechanical design, and keeping cool in high stress situations. In 2019, I moved to the VEX Robotics Competition on team 839 Caution Tape Robotics. VRC brought me deeper in the world of STEM and robotics, with the game being more challenging and the competition being fiercer. In a way, robotics has brought me to enjoy programming and design. In 2022 I moved to the new Silver Owl Robotics VRC team, 3150A. After having a successful stint at Silver Owl Robotics winning the 2022 Ontario Provincial Championship, I decided to create my own team for the new VRC season, Team 25K Kappa Robotics.
In VRC, I learned the language of C++ and continue to develop my skills in that. As the head programmer on VRC Team 839A before, I managed our libraries of code for our robot. I collaborated with other programmers on Team 839A to solve problems and find new solutions to challenges we are presented to in VRC. On the team I also worked on CAD in Fusion 360, to design and manufacture new parts for the robot. I also got into a new field of marketing at 3150A, with video production and graphics creation. Now on Team 25K, I manage the team and also design parts for our robot.
In VRC, I improved my leadership and communication skills as VRC is a highly social competition. At each tournament, collaborating with other teams is key to success.
While on FLL Team Polaris, our team won the regional qualifiers tournament and placed 2nd at the provincial tournament, as well as winning robot design awards. On VRC Team 839, our team made it to VEX Worlds 2 years in a row and won multiple tournament champion awards!
